Say Hello to the Head of the Theatre Department

Miss Sandy Williams was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania many many years ago.  As a Navy Brat she moved all over the country and even the world, moving twelve times by the time she turned 18.  She eventually settled briefly in Northeast Florida where she got a BA of English and an MEd in Instruction and Curriculum, both from the University of Florida.  After teaching for three years in Citra, Florida she came to the Atlanta Metro Area where she eventually settled into Walton County Public Schools as a 9th Grade Language Arts teacher at Loganville High School 9th Grade Academy.  She was at Walnut Grove High School for nine years before she came back to Loganville as the teacher and director of The Pitchfork Players.  She considers her students her "Beautiful Children" and loves writing and directing plays for the theater program.  Miss Williams is also completing her PhD in Teaching and Learning, specifically Language and Literacy Education at Georgia State University.  She considers Theater the ultimate integrated multimodal literacy!

Ms. Carley Keller

When asked why theater matters, Miss Williams replies by saying, " Theater and literature matter because they are the history of the human race. It is what preserves our identity. That is something that cannot be replaced."

"Practice Makes Permanent!"

Pitchfork Player Updates

As the second semester begins, we have started rehearsals on our Winter musical, Disney's High School Musical. The show has been cast with a variety of parts and ensemble performers who rehearse from Monday through Friday from 3:00 to 5:00. The show will be performed on March 23, 24, 25.

For our spring 2023 in-class musical we will be doing a Cabaret which is a theatre-created ensemble of dances and musical numbers to illustrate and and portray a specific story and theme. Performance dates have not been set although students have already begun practicing and brainstorming ideas that they wish to perform
